Easter Brooyar 2010 2nd - 5th April

It's Brooyar time again. So we all know what that means, some of the best sandstone in Queensland, highest density of climbing crags in one area, lots of drinking*, camping and climbing. And we all know how much you love camping and climbing.

If you can't make it all the days, let us know, there may well be other people in the same boat.

Where: Brooyar State Forest, Just Past Gympie, check the guide for exact details.

When: Leaving Brisbane at 7:30am from the top of KP (if needs be) to try and beat the heat

Other: Seems to be a fair bit of interest in mountain biking. Can take a total of 5 bikes on the roof, as long as you arent worried about a few scratches. Would prefer to pickup all bikes at one location on the way to make packing easier.

I've booked myself camping for the whole time, but I'm not sure what/when/how etc. yet. Need to sort some other issues first.

When I do get my shit sorted:
-I will be driving. My car will accept 2 more passengers
-I'll have all the gear I require. (I will need to harass a quartermaster for a rope since they no longer live at my house)
-I will likely have my super huge tarp if I'm there for a few days.

Standard rules for passengers in my car will apply:
I have (and will share) an esky, a large (20L) water bottle, and camp cooking equipment, I expect that passengers will not be bringing this stuff (taking 3 lots of water and 3 eskys is stupid). Also you should check with me before bringing bulky unnecessary items. Camp chair = OK. 12 Man tent = Ask!

For the newcomers:
Don't forget to book camping!
Don't assume other drivers will bring you water! (the water on-site is questionable and you ideally want town water)
Don't forget to get food - or arrange with someone to do bulk lots!

5th = Easter Monday (holiday)

why is the trip only until the 4th?

I will probably go for at least some part but I am not sure when I will be driving up or back just yet. Will keep you posted.

Two quick notes, firstly a reminder to please add that you're a rockclimber in the notes/group section when you're booking your camping, secondly relations with the rangers up there are on the improve but still not entirely rosey, so I'd encourage everyone to make sure we're all on our best behavior.
