The club can seem cliquey to a newcomer, there's something about the way we trust each other on trips and the level of social interaction that goes on that seems to build up a solid social group. The good news is that its not very hard to get into it, learn all the climbing skills you need and become a proficient climber. All you need to do is take heed of these steps:

- Pack up ropes up at the end of the night
- Get down early and help set up
- Volunteer to get ropes from the quatermasters
- Help show new climbers how to belay and tie in
- Push your limits
- Attend the social functions - We expect people we barely recognize to turn up
