Warning: All of these procedures need to be learnt in the presence of an instructor.
This procedure is used when a knot has been tied in the abseil rope at any point on the abseil path. Knots can be placed in ropes for a variety of reasons including joining two shorter ropes to make a longer one and removing a damaged section of the rope from the system.
