The guild liaison officer serves as intermediary between the QUT student guild and QUT Cliffhangers Rockclimbing Club.
Responsibilities
- The guild laision officer is responsible for ensuring good relations with the guild, in particular with the clubs and societies officer, clubs and societies convenor, clubs and societies committee, general secretary and guild president.
- The guild liaison officer should ensure that the club fulfills its obligations to the guild, such as the end of year submission, semester report, funding applications and so on.
- Where possible the GLO should support the guild's efforts to secure funding sources (accompanying documentation with funding applications, trip reports, upcoming events etc), co-ordinate the club in applying for an appropriate share of the funding and then track the overall breakdown of how the funding is apportioned between clubs and to ensure that no funding is overlooked at year's end.
Tips
- The guild is a very personal organisation but they are very campus-centric, it helps to visit often and highlight the good work that QUT cliffhangers does off-campus.
- The university and the guild do not always cooperate, often the club can help bridge this devide through supporting events such as orientation or through dealing directly with university departments/faculties directly.
