Introduction
QUT cliffhangers rockclimbing club based at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. The club in its current form was created in around 1994 however earlier climbing clubs based out of QUT and its predecessor the Queensland Institute of Technology (QIT).
The club is open to students and non-students, beginners and experienced climbers. The club encourages an active culture of knowledge transfer between members along with open and robust debate of technical issues.
Structure
The club is governed by a constitution which establishes a core executive and gives them the power to create additional roles in the executive. The club holds general meetings which are open to all members. The annual general meeting is held in october and the executive for the following year is determine via a series of secret ballots.
Joining
The easiest way to join the club is to simply come along to the regular monday and wednesday night climbing which runs from around 6pm to 9pm at the kangaroo point cliffs. Wander along the base of the cliffs, look for the club banner and people in club shirts, introduce yourself and we'll take care of the rest.

Equipment
The club has an extensive range of climbing club gear, which is managed by the club quartermasters. Members are able to sign out equipment from the quartermasters once they have demonstrated the necessary competence to safely use the equipment.
