30-08-2004 The Dugandan

Our recent trip to the Dugandan at Boonah was sensational. The Dooog's is a country pub with a layed back country attitude. Locals with their best cowboy hat, and a stack of grubby climbers, dirty and keen for a drink and a feast of country beef. Tender juicy steak only just fitting on the plate, piled high with mashed sweet potato, potato-bake, pasta, chips, ..... and garnished with a sprinkling of salad  ;-) We had about 20 people from UQ and QUT turn out for the occasion. I'm sure we'll do it again.

That was Saturday night... Next morning, we packed up camp, and headed back to town for fresh baked pies, donuts, creambuns, and Coffeee. Mmmmmmm Coffee. Stomaches lined, and feelings of sleepyness lingering, we headed to Frog Butress, and Oooohhhgh how fantastic!! Crack after wonderfull cracky crack!! Mmmmm Crack. Condoor was a nice intro to body jams. Tardis was a nice body twister with the occasional hand jam. The Stars Look Down, led by some other "God Like" person, was Faceclimbing, bouldery and bloody-awesome!! Shit-Heap next, and yes it does feel good to get your arm buried in crack all the way up to your elbow!! Last for the day was Dunstan, and after dicking arround, and singing silly tunes, I fell onto my nice new and shiny 0.75 Black Diamon Camalott, worth every penny. Its a nice climb when you aply yourself, huge layback up to a massive body hugging undercling boulder, then scramble over orchids and under a dead tree to the top. And ohhh what a view, sunset from the top of a climb, glorious!! After 5 lines of crack, my troops were tired, it was home time, but first, some night time frisbee, and another round of beers at the dooog's.

Thanks to everyone that made this trip to frog so much fun. To find out all the hype, go have a chat to Damo, Nat, Tristan, Ryan, Alan, Tim, Anna, Maggie, Ria, Greg, Cyryl, or ME!! =)
